Let there be light!

So a very important thing around here is night lights. I have four little kids and as fast as we buy the night lights someone ruins them. It is an endless vicious cycles of destroyed night lights. Our solution to our light dilemma is practically for an EMP situation as well. At Walmart in the garden section there are these garden lights that are $.97 their purpose is to illuminate a pathway by collecting light during the day and dispersing it by night. For less than a dollar you get a solar charger, a battery and a light bulb which is a great deal. So we took the light removed the spike for putting it into the ground and rigged it up in the kids bedrooms out of their reach between the glass of our inner and outer windows.

The delicate nature of this device necessitates them being stored in a faraday cage. However where as it will not illuminate a room to our current standards it will provide enough light combined with a few of its friends to help a person transverse a room after dark. Particularly our living room which may or may not at any time have toys strewn across it. But for $30 to $50 and not very much room in your Faraday cage you can have a basic amount of light after an EMP strikes.
